And the Verdict Is . . .

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Wednesday, March 14, 2012,
It's Wednesday and I just did my first true Shakeology 3 day cleanse from Saturday to Monday.  I think I gave it a good effort despite my day 3 dinner substitution (okay, maybe not an even trade) and I've continued to drink a chocolate shake with 1/2 percent milk both Tuesday morning and this morning while I'm typing this.  These are good filling and very satisfying shakes.  It's on my list from here out as either breakfast or lunch.  "Why?", you ask.  Because I normally eat like total crap a...

Day 3 Recap

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Wednesday, March 14, 2012,
Okie dokie ~ Day 3 and done!  Overall, this cleanse thing was not bad at all.  If you are looking for something that totally cleans you out (literally) and has you starving, then this is certainly not it.  Shakeology is totally manageable.

Same drill as the first 2 days with a little bump at the end (I mean there is always something that goes amiss, right.)

8:00ish - Shake #1 (apparantly, I'm now part of this cult, because I wake up actually looking forward to a shake.  Might as well call it ...

Day 2 Recap

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Monday, March 12, 2012,
It's the morning of day 3, but let me tell you about yesterday.  Honestly, nothing earth shattering to report.  Day 2 was fine.  These shakes are a no brainer.  They taste good, they are easy, they are filling and they don't mess up the kitchen.  The downside is that I still have to magically produce food for all of the other eaters in the house. :)

Day 2 was wrought with a light headache/backache.  Advil would have zapped it immediately, but I feel like the whole idea of this cleanse is to el...

Day 2 Start

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Sunday, March 11, 2012,
It's the beginning of Day 2.  Sunday.  And I've just finished my first shake of the day and a glass of green tea.  Absolutely no craving for coffee or caffeine.  I'm not exactly sure that I am physiologically addicted to coffee, but I love coffee - the taste, the feel and the cozy habit.  Hot green tea could quite possibly take it's place.  Who knew?

I've also stepped on the scale both yesterday morning to record my starting weight and this morning as well.  Weight is an interesting thing for ...

Day 1 Recap

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Sunday, March 11, 2012,
Day 1 - Done.  Not too difficult or shabby.  My total meals consisted of 3 shakes, 2 cups of hot green tea and a salad with lean protein.  Oh, and lots of water.  Here's the shakeology proposed 3 day cleanse sample "menu".

The Shakeology cleanse itself is very easy to follow.

First, you should drink three Shakeology shakes mixed with water a day. You may also have a piece or two of fruit everyday, two cups of green tea, and a salad for dinner which can include poultry or fish. An important ...

The Beginning

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Saturday, March 10, 2012,
It's the Saturday starting spring break and I'm starting a 3 day shakeology cleanse.  "What the heck are you doing, Amy?", you ask.  No, it's not dangerous.  No, I'm not starving myself.  No, it's not a colon cleanse and I'm not typing this in the bathroom.  And no, I am not hallucinating with toxins leaving my body.  I did, however, consume quite a few adult beverages with my husband last night and ate lots of white bread at Brio, so this simple cleanse might be a doozy!  In all honesty thou...

The Experiment

Posted by Amy Wyrick on Friday, March 9, 2012,
If you've ever spoken to me at length (usually on a long run) or skimmed over a chapter in my Sophomore Runner book, you'll know that my entrance into this running gig was spurred by my need and want to lose some fried chicken pounds.  You should also know that my continuation in this sport has miraculously morphed into the search for overall health and enjoyment found with running pals, running efficiency (the more you run, the easier it gets) and running performance (the more you push, the ...
